Benefits of having a quality digital tyre pressure gauge

Digital gauges look like analogue gauges, except they have a digital display. The advantage of a digital gauge is that it may show several measurement standards. Digital gauges may also read more precisely and offer readouts to the tenth of a PSI. In addition, an LCD screen display can be easy to read in the dark.

Digital gauges are the most accurate and very easy to read. Most will display air pressure in psi, kPa or bar. Once the tyre gauge is pressed on to the valve stem, the gauge can read the pressure in two or three seconds.

How does a digital tyre pressure gauge work?

When the pressure gauge is applied to the valve stem of a tyre, the pressurised air from the tyre rushes in and pushes the piston toward the right. The distance the piston travels is relative to the pressure in the tyre. The pressurised air is pushing the piston to the right, and the spring is pushing back.

Are digital or analogue tyre pressure gauges more accurate?

Calibration – A calibrated digital pressure gauge stays calibrated much more reliably than a pressure gauge with analogue output. Digital calibration is done using software, so it’s much more precise.

The iCheck digital tyre pressure gauge also has a built in tread depth indicator allowing to easily check on even tread wear. With digital precision and only using the highest quality components the iCheck tyre pressure gauge is the smart choice.
